Ex-IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt gets guilty in 1996 drug seizure case, Read more..!!

Former Gujarat cadre officer Sanjiv Bhatt served in the Indian Police Service IPS officer. In 1988, Bhatt began working for the IPS after earning his M.Tech from IIT Bombay.

Sanjiv Bhatt was found guilty in relation to the drug seizure case in Palanpur that occurred 28 years ago under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act). After his appearance before the Palanpur Sessions Court bench today, the punishment was delivered.

Prabhudas Vaishnani Death Case:

150 persons were detained during the Jamnagar riots in 1990. At that time, he served as the region’s Additional Superintendent of Police, One Prabhudas Vaishnani was one among them. He died of kidney failure a few days after his arrest by Sanjeev Bhatt. Prabhudas Vaishnani’s family claimed that the dead had been tortured while in the custody of the former IPS officer. In the Vaishnani killing case, Bhatt is presently receiving a life sentence.

1996 drug seizure case Sanjiv Bhatt:

In 1996, Sanjiv Bhatt kept 1.5 kg of opium drug as evidence against the lawyer in a hotel in Palanpur. He was charged with fabricating evidence. Bhatt was the District Superintendent of Police in Banaskantha at that time. Sanjiv Bhatt is already serving a life sentence in the 1989 custodial death case.

A Palanpur Sessions Court bench in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district today sentenced former IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt to 20 years in prison after his appearance.

Rajpurohit was coerced into transferring the disputed land in Pali, Rajasthan, by the Banaskantha police, who had falsely implicated him in the case. Sanjeev Bhatt was eventually identified as the primary defendant in the case.
