Mother’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday with a unique mariachi serenade from Vallarta Supermarkets in Pasadena. The all-female, two-time Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea will take the stage at the store at 655 N. Fair Oaks Ave. from 9 to 10 a.m.
Mothers can take advantage of complimentary aguas frescas, delicious pastries, a rose flower, and live music.
The first 50 moms to arrive will also have the opportunity to participate in an exciting giveaway.

The Mariachi Divas, an all-female mariachi band founded in 1999 by trumpet player and arranger Cindy Shea, made history in 2009 and 2014 when they were nominated for and won Grammy Awards. The group has received five Grammy Award nominations as of 2023. The group, the official mariachi of the Disneyland Resort, works to give women more influence in the traditionally male-dominated mariachi music scene.
The Divas are well-known for their dynamic stage presence, powerful vocals, and musical skill. They have shared the stage with renowned performers like Pepe Aguilar and Lila Downs and at events like the Latin Grammys. They have a large repertoire that includes both classic and modern mariachi arrangements.
Vallarta Supermarkets will live-stream the whole serenade on their Facebook and Instagram sites for anybody unable to attend the in-store event.
As part of its mission to support Mexican heritage and give back to the community, Vallarta Supermarkets is hosting its fifth annual Mother’s Day serenade. The celebration promotes a sense of community among Pasadena residents and emphasizes the important role mothers play by bringing together food, music, and traditions.
