Oklahoma City Thunder Injury Report: Will Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Play Against Pelicans Tonight? Deets Inside

In Game 2 of their seven-series battle this Wednesday, the eighth-seeded New Orleans Pelicans will travel to take on the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Pelicans exceeded expectations as an 8.5-point underdog, but the Thunder prevailed by a slim margin of 94-92 on Sunday night to take the early lead.

Will Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Play Against The Pelicans Tonight?

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is prepared to take on the Pelicans and is a key player in their next matchup.

With just over thirty seconds remaining in Game 1, he made a three-point shot that gave the Thunder a decisive lead that they would hold the entire way.

During the game, the Thunder shot 43.5% from the field, making 10 of 32 three-pointers and 10 of 13 free throw attempts. Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder team with 28 points, while three other players scored in double figures.

While Chet Holmgren scored 15 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and successfully blocked five shots, Jalen Williams contributed 19 points and pulled down seven boards.

Nevertheless, Josh Giddey and Lu Dort’s combined effort was unimpressive; in their 55 minutes of action, they only made three of twelve shots from the floor and finished with eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

An improved performance from them is crucial for the Thunder’s upgrade in their offensive performance.

The Thunder won the first game of the series easily, even if their play did not live up to the standard of the club that won the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Obviously, the Thunder club, consisting mostly of rookies playing in their first-ever postseason game, faced difficulties. However, after overcoming the first obstacles, it is anticipated that their performance will significantly improve going forward.

Gaining the first game, particularly in such difficult conditions, will probably give them more confidence going into the rest of the series and maybe even beyond.
